As a result of the meetings and discussions held within our center, a SWOT analysis was conducted with the participation of all personnel. Based on this, it is aimed to operate the potential and development of our center in a transparent, measurable and adaptable way to new conditions. As a result of the studies carried out, the outputs of our SWOT analysis were determined as follows.
Strengths:
• The university's general approach to research centers is contemporary, solution-oriented and supportive.
• The university has a supportive management regarding the activities to be carried out with non-governmental organizations.
• In addition to the scientific competence of the academic staff working within the center, they also take an active part in activities related to non-governmental organizations and have extensive academic experience for non-governmental organizations.
• All academic and administrative units of the university provide support to the center when necessary.
• Strong project experience of the center management
• The central administration has a strong national and local relationship network with NGOs and public institutions.
• Having credibility due to successfully completed and ongoing activities
Weaknesses:
• The physical and financial infrastructure required to carry out the activities of the center is not yet sufficient.
• Lack of personnel required for secretarial and administrative work follow-up,
• Inefficiency problems caused by the lack of information system,
• The center's manpower capacity is limited to board members.
• The center does not have a periodical publication.
• Insufficient number of publications in Web of Science indexes (SCI, SSCI, AHCI).
• Students do not have sufficient information about non-governmental organizations.
Opportunities:
• Accessibility to national and international funds for NGOs
• High interest of NGOs in cooperation in Çanakkale province
• Positive opinions and support from local private sector and public administrators regarding cooperation
Threats:
• Insufficient financial support provided by the university for the activities of the centres.
• The importance of non-governmental organizations is not known enough by the public.
• Students do not have sufficient knowledge and awareness about the importance of non-governmental organizations.
• The success of the center's activities depends on the management's time management and there is no full-time or part-time staff to monitor the activities,
• Coordination problems with students at Terzioğlu Campus due to the center being located in Biga district.
